General Manager

Veolia is seeking a General Manager (GM) in central, Virginia. The GM will have overall responsibility for the operational success of the central utility plant and distribution business. The GM will be the primary representative of Veolia before the Customer(s), managing the offtake and service contracts. The GM will be responsible for successfully managing the personnel and assets, as well as maintaining relationships with community and business leaders, political bodies and regulatory agencies. The GM will report to the Regional VP.
Responsible for the effectiveness of overall plant management which includes the following activities:
Plant Operations:
Ensure that all facilities are operated to optimize the utility service contact between Veolia and the Customer(s), such as managing utility capacity factors, availability, performance and efficiency.
Manage operating agreements, including environmental and governmental requirements in a clean, safe, efficient and cost effective manner
Provide direction for the dispatch of electric generating, heating, cooling, and compressed air equipment, as well as water and waste water treatment equipment.
Oversee execution of major capital projects to expand and/ or repower the existing generation infrastructure
Collaborate with Corporate Purchasing for the procurement and delivery of fuel and electricity
Safety:
Coordinate Risk Insurance, requirements and plant safety
Review emergency response plans developed by the Operations and Maintenance Contractor
Human Resources:
Sets objectives for the team; manage site personnel and performance of staff; make recommendations for merit increases and incentive pay.
Manage and comply with any Collective Bargaining Agreement(s) for affected employees
Administer Employee Policies and Procedures to all staff members
Financial Reporting:
Prepare annual operating plans, budgets, budget controls, and budget variances for the efficient management of the facility
Monitor budget on monthly basis and long-term budget forecasts
Engineering Support to Business Development:
Manage and expand existing customer relationships, contracts and services
Support the preparation of proposals in response to customer specifications and technical information requests for engineering analysis, system studies, and other technical projects
Executive Reporting/Local Communications:
Communicate regularly with the Regional VP for consultation, guidance and approvals
Communicate regularly with the Customer(s) to ensure operations and maintenance remain aligned with the needs of the various manufacturing processes, daily production schedules, annual and long-range plans.
Manage an ongoing relationship with elected officials, the local community and the regulatory community in coordination with senior management
Monitor local regulatory and community activities for the purpose of anticipating changes that may affect the business
Bachelor's degree preferably in Mechanical or ElectricalEngineering
10 15 years' experience in the energy, industrial ormanufacturing industry with specific experience with central utility plantssupporting industrial processes, district energy and/ or utility powerinfrastructure
5 years' recent experience supervising a staff in a central plant, district energy/steamproduction facility or large facility as a Plant Manager or General Manager;
P&L responsibility with thorough knowledge ofaccounting and financial management for district energy and power productionfacilities
Experience managing complex commercial contracts, with afocus on performance based compensation and customer satisfaction
Strong knowledge of steam, hot and cold water,cogeneration, compressed air, chilled water, electricity, HVAC or other utilitysystems
Strong knowledge of general engineering and operationsprocedures
In-depth knowledge of the economics and technologiesassociated with the provision of district energy or other utility services.
Highly developed leadership skills
Excellent communications skills with the ability tointeract with all levels of an energy organization, from operational managementto senior leadership
Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and safedriving record
Preferred Skills, Knowledge &
Experience:
Experience at a manager level or above supporting centralutilities for an industrial or manufacturing plant
Master's degree in engineering or MBA with thedemonstrated ability to manage engineering and capital projects
Related industry licenses and certifications desirable(Professional Engineer, Certified Energy Manager, PMP, LEED etc.)
prior experience in a union environment

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
